Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer. This position can work remotely.

Typical duties for the Senior Fire Protection Engineer include:

  • Senior technical resource to serve as fire protection subject matter expert for multiple offices and projects.

  • Function as fire protection lead on multiple projects. Will be responsible for coordination with other disciplines, client, AHJ and stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the design of fire suppression, fire alarm/mass notification, gas detection, and smoke control systems.

  • Developing complex code reviews, fire risk assessment, and fire hazard analysis.

  • Mentoring junior engineers and participating in the development of department standards.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Fire Protection Professional Engineer License

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.
