Job Summary

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and self-motivated Roadway/Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Cleveland, Ohio office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Roadway/Transportation Engineering specific to roadway and highway design, drainage design, pavement design, traffic control design, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.

The candidate can look forward to projects including:

  • Intersection and Interchange Improvement Plans

  • Interstate Reconstruction Plans

  • Urban and Rural Roadway Improvement Plans

  • Maintenance of Traffic Plans

  • Drainage and Erosion Control Plans

  • The candidate will be responsible for following ODOT, OTIC, and/or City standards and performing engineering calculations under the supervision of a more senior engineer.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • 2+ years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as highway design, stormwater and multimodal transportation projects..

  • Ability to recognize discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation/Geopak and experience with MS Office

  • Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.

  • Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Due to nature of the work U.S Citizenship is required
