AECOM is seeking a Roadway/Traffic - Project Engineer to be based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate can look forward to projects including:

  • Intersection and Interchange Improvement Plans

  • Interstate Reconstruction Plans

  • Rural Roadway Improvement Plans

  • Maintenance of Traffic Plans

  • Drainage and Erosion Control Plans

  • Utility Relocation Plans

Responsibilities include a combination of the following:

  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering for a moderate scope project.

  • May develop and evaluate project plans and criteria for a variety of roadway or intersection projects.

  • Verifies that applicable codes, engineering standards and environmental commitments are being met.

  • Reviews and approves scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.

  • Tracks overall financial performance of task assignment, which includes coordinating with the Project Manager to monitor sold time and work backlog on task.

  • Delegates work to, mentors, trains and supervises less experienced staff to complete assignments.

  • Assist in developing marketing strategies for targeted projects to public sector clients in Southwest Ohio, Southeast Indiana, and Northern Kentucky.

  • Contact and interact with local public sector clients in order to successfully complete assigned projects

  • Provide assistance in business development and aid in interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating client proposals and marketing efforts

  • Work with Principals, other Project Managers, and marketing staff to identify new business and/or client targets, and assist in the marketing of professional services as requested

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire if current PE is out of state

  • Computer skills using Microsoft office, HCS, Synchro, HISSM, AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred. Strong familiarity with InRoads a plus

  • Prior experience working on traffic safety design projects preferred; individuals with

  • related experience in traffic signal design, traffic control, traffic crash analysis, traffic

  • studies, or roadway design will also be considered.

  • Prior experience working with the Ohio Department of Transportation is a plus
