Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Architecture Designer for employment in the Cleveland, OH office. They will work collaboratively with all team members to cultivate design concepts through modeling, drawings, diagrams, visualization and statistical analyses as part of the process. The Designer will be expected to be proactive in their initiation, creation and presentation of designs.

It is important for the Designer to be able to engage in design collaborations and effectively communicate with fellow design/technical professionals and clients. They will need to be able to articulate questions and have a willingness to engage topics outside of their level of expertise.

They should demonstrate the ability, confidence, and desire to push the limits of what’s possible while seeking innovative solutions to design problems, providing unique perspectives to the built environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), prepare and modify architectural documents at the direction of the project architect or more senior design professionals, ensuring alignment with design intent and firm standards.

  • Perform redline changes on construction documents and revisions under direction of a Senior Architect

  • Performs product research; assists Project Designers and Project Architects with material election and system research

  • Participate in the architectural design process and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to the client or for agency approval

  • Assist with development of project specifications from master specifications

  • Participate in the review of products or shop drawing submittals during the construction phase

  • Scan, copy, print, and transmit original working drawings of current projects

  • Assist Project Architect in the organization and maintenance of project files

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Proficiency in design, problem solving, sustainable design and emerging computer technologies

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch Up graphic software preferred
