Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and deliver outstanding cost consultancy services to clients in the public and private sector? If so, this exciting new Quantity Surveyor role will give you the opportunity to put your career into high gear, challenge yourself, and fully leverage your cost management experience.

As a highly motivated Quantity Surveyor, you will focus on delivering first principles estimating and risk management services to our key clients. This is an opportunity to develop your existing skills and work with a well-versed team to build your career.

The role will primarily focus on civil engineering and infrastructure projects and the day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Provision of cost estimates for civil engineering projects

  • Preparation of quantities from a range of drawings with varying levels of detail

  • Cost advice at all stages of the project life-cycle

  • Advice during the procurement phase and tender evaluation

  • Post-contract cost management services

  • Assessment of project risk allowances to feed into project budgets

  • Delivering excellent service to clients in all aspects of project delivery

Qualifications

You will be a natural team player who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a cost estimator / quantity surveyor / cost manager

  • Familiarity with relevant NZ industry standards

  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external clients

  • Experience in the preparation of estimates from first principles

  • Knowledge and experience of Cost Estimating and Quantity Surveying software such as Cost X and @risk

  • Operates with high standards of integrity

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Member of RICS or NZIQS would be advantageous
