Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a Senior Process Safety Management Consultant located in the West Region. The selected candidate will join AECOM’s EHS + Air practice within the Environment Business Line. The primary emphasis of the group is to support clients with their Process Safety Management (PSM) and Health and Safety (H&S) regulatory compliance needs for a variety of federal, municipal, and private-sector clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing and executing PSM and H&S projects for clients in the consulting industry.

  • Supporting EHS business development efforts, including preparation of technical and cost proposals, to grow our PSM and H&S compliance work with existing and new clients.

  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients to enhance client retention and growth.

  • Mentoring junior staff and leading project teams for PSM, RMP and H&S work.

The successful candidate will have at least 6 years of PSM/RMP and H&S regulatory compliance experience and its application with demonstrated experience in:

  • Conducting or providing technical oversight of PSM/RMP and H&S audits and inspections at various types of sites for clients to identify potential deficiencies or hazards and determine corrective actions accordingly.

  • Having in-depth working knowledge of regulations including OSHA 1910 (including Subpart H, Subpart N, Subpart O) and EPA air, water, and waste regulations.

  • Recommending improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment for Clients to minimize hazards.

  • Conducting PHAs using a variety of methodologies, including HazOp and FMEA.

  • Providing on-site PSM and H&S support services for various Clients.

  • Managing PSM and H&S related projects, including budget preparation, proposal writing, technical oversight of project execution, and project invoicing.

  • Mentoring junior PSM/RMP and H&S professionals to execute various projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant safety and/or STEM-based discipline.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education of PSM/RMP and H&S regulatory compliance experience.

  • Ability to travel up to approximately 2 weeks per month to conduct PSM, RMP, or H&S audits.

  • Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of PSM survey and H&S regulatory compliance experience and its application.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credentials.
