Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Interior Designer in our Chicago, IL office.
Our Chicago Corporate Studio is a multi-disciplinary design practice serving Corporate Clients for design and architecture solutions, with professionals in Master Planning, Strategy, Architecture, Interiors, and Building Engineering. Our cross-disciplinary collaborations create a unique and unparalleled environment for learning about and shaping the built world. We are searching for a designer to apply their passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative work environment. You will be working with project teams on conceptual and schematic design packages and construction documents, while supporting RFP responses and interview preparation.
The ideal candidate will have:
A passion for design and planning solutions.
Strong capabilities in 3D modeling and architectural visualization
The ability to lead a team effort, work independently, and support junior staff in their growth.
Maintain a line of communication and a collaborative working relationship with AECOM's leadership team.
The ability to communicate design concept and intent through various media, which is critical to both the internal team as well as clients.
Strong planning ability and communications skills to lead a client through an overall concept design.
The ability to collaborate and lead the preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final construction documents.
The ability to maintain conformance with client standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
A comprehensive knowledge of interior finishes and furniture, and the ability to lead selections and specifications of same.
The desire to participate in a leadership role in business development activities with current and prospective clients.
The ability to lead junior and intermediate designers through a design process that respects both schedule and budget.
The chemistry to attract new talent.
The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
6+ years' experience with an emphasis on Corporate markets
The ability to accommodate limited domestic travel
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Registration/NCIDQ certification desired
Proficiency with BIM-Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, or other 3-D design software
Experience in all project phases, from pre-design through project close-out
LEED Accreditation a plus
10+ years' experience with an emphasis on Corporate markets
