AECOM Marketing Intern in Chicago, Illinois

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an intern to support our marketing team. The position is based in Chicago, IL, and will work with our marketing team supporting our central region practice. Core responsibilities for this role include collateral and content development, document layout, graphics, presentation support and updates to databases and SharePoint sites. Our ideal candidate has been an intern in a design-related capacity previously.

Our Buildings + Places business line focuses on design excellence through workplace strategy, architecture, interiors, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, building engineering, and landscape architecture.

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

  • Intern 2 – completion of second year of qualified study

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with a variety of technical and marketing staff

  • Participates in the maintenance of marketing information, such as project sheets and credentials

  • Undertakes special projects, such as award submittals, as assigned

  • Supports senior marketing leads

  • Works under general supervision and collaboration with the marketing leader and teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • AA/AS (US) + 1 YORE or Diploma/Certification (Canada) + 1 YORE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, English or Design

  • Understands marketing, communication, graphics and/or architecture

  • Graphic sensibility with strength in written and visual storytelling to support messaging around people, projects, and design services

  • Ability to operate within a team setting

  • Effective and personable verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational aptitude and attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office (current version): Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in proposal management and coordination for design firms

  • Excellent graphic design sense

  • Related A/E industry and/or design marketing experience

  • Beginning to intermediate ability in Adobe Creative Cloud

  • A university student with no less than one year before graduation. These students are typically Freshmen, Sophomores or Juniors.
