Job Summary

The AECOM Water business line is actively seeking a highly talented Union Field Technician (Local 150) for immediate employment at the O’Hare and/or Midway Airport, IL office. Responsibilities include performing field QA/QC material testing on soils, concrete, and bituminous concrete mixtures, construction observation, and report preparation. Objectives are to provide engineering data to internal and external clients based on field investigation results and findings. The field work and data generated support the engineering projects and provide verification of material installation, per engineering design specifications. Company vehicle will be provided for use on-site. Candidate will be required to prepare daily reports and material recommendations including electronic entry of field data collected during site investigations into field laptop computers.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years' field technician experience

  • Current member of the Local 150 Union

  • Able to pass MDW/ORD airport background check

  • IDOT PCC Level II and HMA Level II, or higher, certified

  • Troxler Nuclear Gauge certified

  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel

  • Hold a valid drivers' license

  • IDOT Level II Concrete

  • IDOT Level II Asphalt

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, including safety awareness

  • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, confined space entry and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to tolerate working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • IDOT documentation certificate

  • S-33 certificate
