AECOM Electrical Engineer - Transportation Electrification in Chicago, Illinois
AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Energy Team (various locations). This team works on a variety of transportation electrification, fleet conversion, planning, resilience, and decarbonization related initiatives for municipal, utility, and private clients. This role will focus on Transportation Electrification, including electric vehicle (EV) readiness planning, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), EV adoption, and EV implementation considerations such as site feasibility and design. This role will also require an understanding of market trends, advances in technology, and ability to develop out innovative concepts (e.g. electric shared mobility). The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of electrical systems, with experience in transportation electrification related initiatives.
This role will also integrate within AECOM’s other Energy offerings, which include climate action planning, sustainability planning, smart street lighting, smart sensors and networks, microgrids, distributed generation, energy efficiency, district energy systems, net-zero buildings and communities, monitoring base commissioning infrastructure, energy-water nexus, and coordinated infrastructure investment.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Conducting EV adoption forecasting
Develop cost estimates for EV charger implementation
Assess fleet conversion opportunities and feasibility
Interface with the customer to identify project/scope needs and communicate engineering solutions.
Write technical scopes of work for subcontractors
Write detailed technical approach descriptions to be included in proposal client submissions
Leading client project meetings to inform stakeholders’ understanding of data analysis output
Serving as a technical task lead on projects
Serving as a deputy project manager or project manager on larger projects

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (preferably Electrical or Civil)
2+ years of relevant experience, which must include experience in transportation electrification
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE), with intent to obtain PE license.
Masters degree in Engineering
Directly relevant experience that includes any of these industries:- Federal government- Utilities- Advanced manufacturing- Life sciences

Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $59,285 - $109,677 annually exempt.
