Job Description

This role will see you work on fantastic projects at Heathrow for baggage system, link bridges and terminal modifications to educational inspections and our work in industry with the likes of Rolls Royce and BP.

Working from our Chesterfield office you will find cheap local car parking and a train station both within a 5 minute walk. We are a multi-disciplinary office and have a great environment to work in.

The role will include:

Forming part of a design team on large multidiscipline projects

Working as discipline lead on smaller projects

Performing quality control reviews of work developed by junior engineers

Input to pre-qualification and selection of contractors, respond to tender queries, comment and review tender returns.

Attending tender interviews with the design lead.

Attending site inspection meetings.

Travel is involved in this role with occasional overnight stays away needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Portfolio of relevant work demonstrating required competencies across broad sectors including industrial, defence, education, commercial and healthcare

Proficient in the use of Amtech design software

Proficient use of Dialux or Relux software.

Competent in the use of NBS specification writing software

Competent in designing coordinated containment runs and optimising ceiling spaces with mechanical colleagues

Familiar with drawing outputs required for 3D modelling in Revit software

Thorough knowledge of BSRIA Design Guides

An intuitive approach to initial loading estimates to generate utility quotations and initial plant accommodation

Familiar with Building Regulations requirements for energy conservation and low carbon technologies

Excellent communication skills both internally and within the design team environment

Design experience of multi service containment design, lighting design, fire detection systems and general small power distribution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or equivalent experience / qualifications in Electrical engineering

Member of the IETCEng accredited or working towards.
