AECOM Project Controls Lead - Highways in Chesterfield, United Kingdom

Job Summary

Our UK&I highways teams have vacancies for experienced Project Controls Leads.

The team is highly successful and our workload is growing, providing opportunities to be involved in the management of a number of major highways schemes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to our PMO Manager, the principal function of the role is to lead the monitoring of budgets, schedule/progress, earned value and cash flow.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Ensure accurate project control data is provided to Project Managers to advise on project status.

  • Coordinate and produce key deliverables of the regular reporting cycle including weekly/monthly spend monitoring and variance explanations

  • Lead budget management and cost control, including liaison with sub-teams to update/prepare the Estimates to Complete.

  • Tracking and analysing project progress including the assessment of earned value (BCWP, BCWS, and ACWP).

  • Data analysis and preparation of briefings, dashboards, status reports and progress reports using digital tools.

  • Support the identification, development and management of change controls providing scope, cost, and schedule data related to baseline change;

  • Mentor and support junior staff in the team

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or degree

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of project controls, cost monitoring and earned value management.

  • Experience of managing other staff in a project controls environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • APM or equivalent professional qualification (or demonstrably working towards)

  • Experience of delivery of PMO best practice in a consulting environment on infrastructure projects

  • Knowledge of lean management practices.

  • Use of PowerBI or equivalent platform for data management
