Due to expansion, we currently have an opening for a Bridge Engineer to join our team in Chesterfield.office. The Chesterfield office has an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering schemes for more than 35 years for Highways England and Local Authorities. Our modern office, located near the railway station and centre of Chesterfield, has multi-disciplinary transportation assessment and design capability in rail and highway schemes

AECOM is one of the world’s leading engineering and environmental consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction and programme and construction management services throughout the UK and internationally.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience with bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes.

  • Previous design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.

  • Experience in road and/or rail projects.

  • Previous skills in current inspection, assessment and design.

  • Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.

  • You will have a current clean driving license and be willing to travel throughout the UK to visit sites.

  • Previous experience in finite element modelling particularly in Lusas is beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of the Eurocode Standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Ideally educated to MSc level or equivalent.
