AECOM is currently recruiting for an Associate Director-level Bridges Project Manager to join our centrally located Chesterfield office.

Due to expansion, we currently have an opening for a Bridges Project Manager to join our team in Chesterfield.
The Chesterfield office has an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering schemes for more than 35 years for Highways England and Local Authorities. Our modern office, located the near the railway station and centre of Chesterfield, has multi-disciplinary transportation assessment and design capability in rail and highway schemes.

M6 J21a to 26 and M62 J10-12.
M4 Jn 3 to 12, M3 Jn 2 to 4A and M6 Jn 10a-13.
Highways England Road Improvement schemes

A5-M1 link dual carriageway upgrade
Major D&B projects: Mersey Gateway JV
CAFA rail bridge inspection and assessment. Long term commission with bridge sites located on the LNW lines.
OPSAP inspections and assessments of on station canopies throughout the LNW route.
Midlands Highways Alliance – this enables AECOM to provide bridge engineering services to 25 Local Authorities throughout the Midlands
As an Associate Director-level Bridges Project Manager, you will have the following daily responsibilities:
Project-manage bridge engineering schemes from feasibility through to detailed design.
Responsible for production through to client sign off of Technical Approval documentation.
Client liaison and the production of tenders, including quality documentation and costings.
Project Management including program and resource monitoring, quality control, technical management and delivery.
Wider overview of overall team finances, resource planning, and reporting.
Mentoring graduate engineers in their progress to Chartership.
Overview and supervision of analysis and detailed design of road/rail bridges and other structures.
Overview and supervision of inspection, assessment and strengthening of road/rail bridges and other structures.
The role will suit a self-motivated individual looking to lead teams and to advance their career in project management in a dynamic structures team of around 20 engineers and technicians.
Proven project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
Significant experience of leading project teams, including major project multidisciplinary teams, developing a range of bridge and other associated structures scheme solutions from initial concept through to detailed design for implementation.
Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.
Previous experience of resource planning and financial reporting is preferred.
Experience with bridge and related structural inspection for assessment and design schemes.
Experience in road and rail bridge projects.
High level technical skills in design, assessment and current inspection.
Ability to manage staff and project Health and Safety responsibilities including compliance with CDM legislation.
Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
Ideally educated to MSc level or equivalent.
Must be a Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE.
