Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Risk Assessment Scientist to be based in Chelmsford, MA or Germantown, MD.
This position is expected to begin in June 2023
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Human health risk assessor to become integrated member of AECOM's risk assessment and remediation practices. Responsibilities include:
Performs work for which there are set guidelines and precedents that involves plans, investigations, testing or equipment with relatively few complex features.
Assignments may include one or more of the following: Testing of chemicals, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific narrow area of assignments.
Works in small projects or portions of larger projects.
Coordinates and communicates with subcontract laboratories on routine technical matters with minimal supervision.
Reviews analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine and complex analyses based on well-defined guidelines with minor supervision.
Validates analytical data under very close supervision for routine analyses at a level of detail that requires intimate familiarity with method procedures and requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Health or Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or other related area plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience supporting/performing human health risk assessment calculations in an environmental consulting setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Applied knowledge of USEPA risk assessment guidance is a plus.
Experience with vapor intrusion assessment, statistics, or ecological risk assessment is a plus.
