AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented Lead Civil Engineer, Coastal Flood Mitigation for immediate employment in the Chelmsford, MA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Concept, preliminary and final design of natural and hardscape features to provide flood control

  • Coordinating with USACE, MassCZM and other state and federal agencies to gain consensus and approvals for work in jurisdictional areas and on designated facilities

  • Data collection and analyses

  • Coordination with technical disciplines including geotechnical, structural, civil, environmental among others

  • Management of schedule and budget

  • Oversight of junior staff on tasks and deliverables

  • Coordination with project engineers and clients to identify critical planning issues

  • Preparation and delivery of presentations

  • Assistance with business development opportunities

  • Coordination with project team members to deliver quality products to clients on schedule

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - in Civil or Coastal Engineering

  • 5+ years’ experience working on coastal engineering projects including design

  • PE (EIT with pending PE considered)

  • Familiarity with USACE design requirements

  • Experience working with communities in providing resiliency, particularly in water, transportation, energy and transportation areas.

  • Knowledge of CAD, GIS applications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client and agency presentations and written report preparation

  • Ability to work with a team of variety of technical disciplines

  • Ability to monitor budget and schedule for all tasks

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred
