Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Civil Engineering II to be based in Chelmsford, MA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Project Engineer in the Water/Wastewater Design Build group.

  • Perform project engineering tasks on water and wastewater projects including civil, sitework, chemical systems, piping design, primary and secondary treatment, disinfection systems and pump stations.

  • Supervise subcontractors and less experienced engineers.

  • Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to solve unique engineering problems.

  • Work with engineering staff assigned to projects and provide technical direction on project activities.

  • Responsible for the overall work progress and technical performance of projects.

  • Provide water and wastewater treatment related engineering analysis and design, as well as assistance in data collection and analysis, and report writing.

  • Prepare detailed plans and specifications for treatment plant project.

  • Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control for project deliverables.

  • Obtain all necessary permits for project.

  • Communicate with clients and other team members on project deliverables.

  • During construction phase of projects, oversee construction activities, review submittals, RFIs and maintain detailed logs, track project budget and schedule, communicate effectively with contractor and client and be responsible for overall work progress.

  • Provide support on project management.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical field and 12 months of work experience in the job offered, or in a Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering-related occupation. Position requires 30% domestic travel. Position also requires:

  1. Design of water/wastewater treatment plant units;

  2. Experience in performing assessment of water/wastewater plants;

  3. Civil and site design;

  4. Water and wastewater design and construction;

  5. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification;

  6. Planning, permitting, and design of water and wastewater conveyance projects or water/wastewater plant work;

  7. Managing generation of construction drawings and plans in AutoCAD, and/or plant drawings in AutoCAD.
