Our team in the South provides concept, preliminary and detailed design and network modelling on a wide range of projects for local authorities and the private sector, as well as supporting other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised traffic and highways interface. At AECOM we offer flexible working and are happy to look at a range of different working patterns including compressed weeks and occasional home working.

Our team have a vacancy for a Consultant to deliver TRO's and Parking Studies for clients across our southern region.

You will be joining an established team that will be involved in the winning and delivery of projects and services to a range of both local and national clients including:

  • Local Authority Clients in the South Region including Kent CC, Oxfordshire CC Cornwall Council and WECA

  • Transport for London

  • Midlands Highways Alliance

You will have experience of working as part of project teams developing feasibility, preliminary and/or detailed design for traffic engineering and urban realm schemes. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team. We would consider the role on either a full or part-time basis and are happy to look at a range of different working patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of all elements of TRO/TMO's including TTRO and ETRO's, parking studies and regulatory lining and signing design.

  • Undertake Health & Safety duties including ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for team members and fulfilling all responsibilities for safety, health, and the environment in the design

  • Preparation of technical reports providing specialist technical contributions as required.

  • Share knowledge to ensure the wider team are up to date with current best practice, techniques, and innovation

  • Taking responsibility for own career and professional development

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge of delivering a range of TRO/TMO and parking related studies and the regulatory process.

  • Appreciation of the following aspects: cycling design, traffic calming, drainage, junction design, and footway and carriageway improvement design

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding and application of relevant design standards and regulations.

  • Experience of dealing directly with Clients, Local Authorities and Key Stakeholders

  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements including CDM responsibilities

  • Excellent technical and communication skills and ability to work well within a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc, BEng or MEng degree in Engineering or another relevant qualification.
