AECOM is seeking an experienced and talented Traffic Safety Specialist in Raleigh, North Carolina. The candidate must be knowledgeable in traffic safety analysis and traffic safety field investigations preferably with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a AECOM transportation traffic engineering department with interesting projects and professional mentors. Performing traffic safety crash analyses
Creating GIS maps for traffic safety crash analysis
Traffic safety data analysis
Drawing traffic collision diagrams
Analyzing traffic crash patterns
Making traffic safety improvement recommendations
Preparing Traffic Collision documents and reports
Checking/Reviewing Traffic Safety analyses, collision diagrams, field investigations or other similar assignments

BA/BS in Engineering, Planning or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
4+ years of experience working on traffic safety projects or a related field
Familiar with MicroStation/AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word
NCDOT or another state DOT experience
Understanding of NCDOT (or other DOT) guidelines / procedures / policies
Familiar with NCDOT Traffic Engineering Accident Analysis System (TEAAS)
TEAAS Training Certification
Familiar with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Highway Safety Manual (HSM)
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills required for client and team interaction
Self-motivation and enthusiasm to learn new skills
Excellent attention to detail and quality of work
The ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this role
