AECOM Pipeline / Mechanical Designer II in Charlotte, North Carolina

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Pipeline / Mechanical Designer II for immediate employment in the Charlotte, NC office.
Candidate will produce the engineering required for projects including: transmission and distribution pipelines (FERC and state regulated), regulating and metering stations, natural gas well pads, compressor stations, gas processing, and pump stations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepares drawings using AutoCAD and Bentley platforms
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to manage survey and pipeline as-built information
Prepare pipeline alignment sheets
Work with in-house and sub-consultant survey firms to create construction staking packages and prepare as-built drawings
Prepare permit and construction drawings
Prepare site plans utilizing Civil 3D software, with a background in Power, Oil and Gas market.
Performs general calculations of construction quantities
Has the ability to prepare or assist in designing of site drainage and storm water facilities, and erosion and sedimentation control plans
Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments
Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard scientific techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks
2+ years of experience using AutoCAD and other software such as AutoCAD Civil and Plant 3D, Bentley or CADworx.
Ability to learn and readily utilize emerging technologies with a continuous improvement mindset
Working knowledge of pipeline safety regulations and standards
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Valid Driver's License
Associates or Bachelors' degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, GIS, CAD or related field
Demonstrated experience utilizing GIS, 2D/3D AutoCAD, Bentley and other information management platforms in support of engineering and construction of equipment, pipelines, compression and related facilities
Experience working at a company that owns, constructs and/or operates natural gas or oil pipeline systems and facilities
Demonstrated experience preparing alignment sheets for linear infrastructure, preferably oil or natural gas assets
Due to the nature of this work US Citizenship is required
