AECOM Disaster Recovery Proposal Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced marketing specialist to lead and support the development of proposals, presentations, and other marketing deliverables for our disaster resilience solutions team. The marketing specialist will work with AECOM’s staff who lead our preparation for and response to natural and human-caused disasters in the US and around the world. Preferred locations are cities with AECOM offices where our team members are located, primarily in North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, or southern California.

The DRS Proposal Specialist provides marketing leadership for disaster-related proposals primarily for a variety of US civilian agencies. This person leads the development of SF330 submittals, capability statements, proposals, and presentations. The ideal candidate will also possess marketing and graphic skills to produce brochures, web-page articles, and manage technical content. This position will not require branding, heavy creative, or web programming work. Proposals in the DRS market space are often require fast turn around with little advance notice. Flexibility with schedule is important because, due to the nature of DRS projects, after-hours and/or weekend availability is often required.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as a proposal manager for proposals falling under DRS purview

  • Lead large proposals and presentations from pre-RFP project positioning through to interview stage, as required.

  • Provide conceptual leadership for document design while ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed

  • Participate in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal

  • Facilitate pink and red team, quality reviews, and apply lessons learned to add value to proposals

  • Manage the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams

  • Write and edit tailored resumes and past performance sections for proposals

  • Provide or obtain grammatical and technical editing to ensure quality

  • Support debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement

  • Support content development related clients/markets, as requested by communications, client account managers (CAMs) and other BLs, as necessary

  • May contribute to the development and implementation/presentation of internal training content

  • Support management of client accounts and pursuits using company CRM (Salesforce)

  • Support special projects, as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketing experience in the A/E/C industry

  • Strong writing and/or editing skills (e.g., marketing writing, proposal writing, and technical editing)

  • Experience with federal clients such as FEMA, HHS, and USACE

  • Adobe Creative Cloud expertise (mainly Indesign)

  • Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Microsoft Word and Excel expertise

  • Salesforce or comparable CRM data entry and reporting experience
