Job Summary

AECOM’s National Water Business Line is actively seeking a highly talented Business Development Lead with a background in climate change and coastal resiliency to serve as the North American Riverine and Coastal and Urban Resiliency Leader for flooding. Anticipated focus areas may be in the following areas: climate change and urbanization in riverine and coastal areas, impacts on natural and built ecosystems, mitigation of sea level rise / rainfall and adaptation strategies, resource and habitat restoration, risk management, and business continuity. This position will be multi-disciplinary and involves significant coordination among AECOM’s resources. This senior-level position is responsible for developing and leading AECOM’s vision & strategy, as well as developing & coordinating the necessary technical resources to grow a broad-based resiliency practice that includes consulting and engineering services.

This is a Charlotte, NC based position, however, the physical location of this position is flexible based on candidate qualifications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

  • 10+ years of experience in municipal, civil engineering consulting, or engineering management companies

  • Previous and on-going successful client relationships with major clients

  • Previous experience with regional River Authorities, local communities, states and Federal government with respect to flood hazard identification, including urban flooding and stormwater management, disaster response and disaster recovery activities. High-profile significant duration participation in water community activities

  • Deep knowledge of FEMA’s programs pre-disaster, disaster response, and disaster recovery protocols

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in flood and disaster related experience

  • Professional Engineers license

  • CFM

  • PMP

  • FEMA Badge
