Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Project Performance of engineering done in the specific technical segment.
Providing technical engineering during the execution.
Ensuring that the construction and applications comply with all statutory, regulatory, safety, health and quality requirements whilst ensuring environmental and business sustainability.
Identify scope creeps and report problems to the Employer.
Ensure that the system for quality management during the design, construction and commissioning phase is effectively implemented and managed on all phases to ensure compliance with relevant Acts.
Collaborating with the discipline Project Managers regarding the specification of design deliverables.
Proactively recommending and implementing corrective strategies where needed to best meet the Employer's overall project objectives.
Reviewing project deliverables and method statements.
Provide professional advice during testing and commissioning of all fail safe signal systems and deem safe for operations.
Doing in depth drawing reviews of all design documents including constructability and HAZOP reviews.
Review of quality assurance processes, witnessing of tests, etc.
Provide expert advice on ISO 9001:2008, 18014001:2004, & OHSAS 18001:2007 systems.
Provide expert advice on railway industry standards, Railway industry approved codes, Railway industry guidelines.
Provide expert advice in IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/102/104, IEC 62279, IEC 62280-1 specifications.
Provide expert advice on signalling design principles and fail safe signalling operational management.
Provide expert advice on signalling train traffic control systems.
Provide expert advice on signalling interlocking principles, infrastructure condition assessment and monitoring systems, Automation, fibre optic communication cables.
Monitoring progress, recording all test results, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment and compilation of all documentation for inclusion in the site test documentation.
Ensure commissioning and performance is in compliance with the design criteria. Define and review contractor's method and action to ensure proper operations of equipment, system and plant.
Attend relevant briefings and site meetings.
Provide and issue weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports to the employer.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in the same role.
- Relevant Engineering Qualification.
