The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing the project program. The Construction Project Manager is also responsible for the individual projects under his/her leadership;
Will support his team as the project team leader in the capacity of mentoring, guiding while strategically and tactically leading all aspects of operation required;
Will support and represent AECOM in all aspects of the project operations;
Responsibility for governance and adherence to client and AECOM procedures as and when required;
Interface with, representing and possibly influencing whenever possible external stakeholders and where applicable build the solid relational requirements using appropriate and accepted communication protocols;
Conduct appropriate, regular meetings with Contractor attended by the NEC Supervisor, relevant project functional staff and the Resident Engineer with respect to all aspects of the project and ensure that minutes are prepared and distributed.
To take the project from initial stage to project completion, understanding different aspects of project life cycle and delivery mechanism in line with the client’s and agreed operational parameters;
Requires a solid understanding of NEC form of contract, project dynamics and solutions, capable of interacting and shifting between different phases of operating.
The NEC Construction Project Manager is appointed as a representative of the contractual portion of the project;
Perform duties as per NEC Contract;
Perform the NEC contractual duties within delegated authority, contractual timeframes and within the framework of the project organization;
Request Employer to refer disputes actions to the Adjudicator;
In the event that the NEC Project Manager is not exclusively appointed by the Employer as NEC Project Manager, perform organizational duties as per the requirements of the organizational role;
Work with the NEC Supervisor to implement the requirements of the NEC Contract;
Ensure compliance by Contractors with their Health and Safety Plan;
Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements affecting the contract;
- 11 years’ experience within an EPCM procurement team.
Specific Skills Required :
- Team player, good communication skills, in-depth knowledge and experience on commercial buildings or large projects a requirement, professionally certification recommended.
BSc Construction, BSc QS, BTech, BEng qualification.
Professional Registration in Progress.
