Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst/Specialist in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will be required to qualify as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor and perform assessments. Will be responsible for developing checklists, assessment plans, and assessment reports based on upper tier requirements. Will be responsible for performing Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering functions including but not limited to Quality Assurance review/approval and disposition of nonconformance reports for the Central Characterization Program. Perform QA review of procedure and procurement documents for compliance with the applicable quality program requirements. Assist in the maintenance and development of the technical, administrative, and programmatic documents related to the implementation of a NQA-1/10CFR830 compliant program. Support Trend Analysis efforts. Assist WIPP personnel with procurement quality requirements. Participate on bid proposal reviews. Assist with management of Qualified Suppliers List. Assist with supplier evaluation and audits. Travel to lead and participate in supplier assessments. Write clear and organized reports and other documents that effectively communicate ideas, problems, solutions, and status of projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science related field, or

  • Associates Degree with four (4) years of experience, or

  • High School Diploma or GED with eight (8) years of relevant experience.

  • Business travel will be required approximately 25% of the time.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with procurement requirements, knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency Standards.

  • Experience with DOE Quality Assurance Programs or commercial nuclear power. Knowledge of Waste Analysis Plan and Transuranic Waste Acceptance Criteria or equivalent program is preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communications.

  • Strong audit/surveillance skills.

  • Previous WIPP experience preferred.
