Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a
Operations Safety Professional to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
The successful candidate will perform detailed work, analyze findings, prepare reports, and make recommendations. Accurately interpret, apply and explain applicable codes, laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Use initiative and independent judgment to make decisions within established guidelines. Understand and follow departmental policies. Serve as a consultant to Site Operations for the purpose of achieving full compliance with applicable federal, state and DOE requirements pertaining to Industrial Safety. Conduct frequent inspections of site facilities and job performance to ensure compliance with requirements and safety of personnel. Conduct reviews of site procedures, purchase requisitions and work instructions to ensure hazards are appropriately defined and mitigated. Ability to attain underground qualification, respirator qualification and RADII qualification.
Bachelors of Science degree plus two (2) years of related experience, or
Associate’s degree plus six (6) years of related experience, or
High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of experience is required.
Previous mining or industrial safety experience is required.
Experience in implementation of OSHA/MSHA standards in an industrial/mining environment is necessary.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Safety Certification.
Due to the nature of work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Background in Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, Mobile Equipment, Excavations, Shaft Sinking and Electrical Maintenance is preferred.
A Safety Certification would be a plus.
Previous WIPP experience preferred.
