Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a
Deputy Human Resources Manager to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Human Resources Manager of Nuclear Waste Partnership. This position will also be a career path position to a Manager or Director of Human Resources position either at WIPP or at other AECOM locations. This is a Leadership role in the Company, not an administrative role. Candidates whose experience demonstrates creative and meaningful examples of using inspirational leadership in leading culture change, implementing and maintaining important core values, and accomplishments through leading by example will receive strong consideration. Examples of duties will include but not limited to the following: Act in place of the Human Resources Manager as assigned. Manage specific assigned projects and special efforts by the HR department such as compensation audits, adverse impact analyses, employee benefits special campaigns, update and development of department and Company processes and formal procedures, and manage and coordinate functions related to the overall Human Resources program direction as assigned. May also assist in oversight of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Benefits Administration, Compensation, Recruiting and Staffing and any other area of Human Resources Activities as requested by the HR Manager and all other areas of the HR function such as employee discipline, open door policy, employee assistance program, and new employee orientation. Functions performed by the Human Resources Department include but are not limited to:
Assure compliance of human resources activities with applicable federal, state, and Company specifications, laws, and requirements including equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.
Direct development and implementation of total compensation programs including pay system practices and planning activities, performance-based salary administration system, job evaluation
Establish and conduct community relations activities related to recruitment and labor relations.
Design, implementation and update of employee health and welfare programs such as medical, dental, life, disability, and other insurance programs.
Manage or assist in managing the employee pension and 401K programs – potentially become a member of the Benefits and Investment Committee.
Oversee conduct of an integrated Organization and Professional Development program to support leadership development and continuous support of our Company safety culture.
Administer two collective bargaining agreements for represented employees maintaining a positive, partnering approach in working with our union leaders.
Participation in collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations is required.
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with heavy emphasis in Human Resources or Industrial/Labor Relations may be considered as would a Bachelor’s in Business with a Masters in either Human Resources or Industrial/Labor Relations.
Fifteen (15) years of applicable experience, including at least five (5) years of experience directly managing at least one or more major Human Resources function is required.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.
- Labor Relations and collective bargaining experience is highly desired.
