AECOM Senior Infrastructure Advisor / Economist in Canberra, Australia

Job Summary

Our Infrastructure business is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Advisor to join the National Government team based in Canberra. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects for a range of federal and state government clients.

The team provides a range of services including business case development, financial and economic analysis, strategic and technical advice, feasibility and pre-feasibility advice and infrastructure prioritisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying strong technical capability when assessing problems, benefits and costs to solve our clients’ problems in a dynamic and changing environment. You will be required to have a competency and interest in working with technical advisors to provide technically informed advisory consulting services as well as a passion for developing long term client relationships and winning work.

About the role :

Providing infrastructure advisory and consulting services to public and private clients.

  • Developing business cases, asset decision frameworks and technical advisory services, collaboratively drawing in the other expertise of AECOM

  • Strong technical proficiency in economic and financial modelling of infrastructure projects

  • Deliver strategic infrastructure and asset management services

  • Work as a member of multi-disciplinary teams, providing support to senior business leaders and junior staff.

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for an agile individual who loves problem solving, leading teams and who values excellent client and customer service across transport, infrastructure, and government sectors.You will be key in the successful delivery of projects supported by a team of passionate professionals.

  • Experience in infrastructure projects, such as transport, precincts, public or private clients

  • Skills in interpreting, developing and analysing economic, financial and operational models and articulating results and recommendations

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to communicate complex concepts in a way that everyone understands

  • You will have experience working within advisory, although government and other relevant sectors may be suitable.

  • ​​​​​​​This role may suit experienced individuals from a range of professional profiles, however professional infrastructure advisory experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Commerce / Economics or Finance.

  • Australian Citizen and able to apply for baseline clearance or greater.
