AECOM Senior Civil Engineer in Canberra, Australia

Job Summary

Our Civil Infrastructure team are currently seeking an aspiring and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Canberra office and support our team in delivering excellent solutions for our clients.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for you to develop your career and technical skills and will see you working closely with engineers, scientists, drafters and other professionals across a variety of disciplines throughout the AECOM business. You will provide technical engineering and design support on a diverse and challenging range of projects across ACT, NSW and Australia.

We are currently helping to deliver multiple large infrastructure projects such as Canberra Light Rail and Newell Highway Programme Alliance. As a Senior Civil Engineer within the team, you will actively participate in and contribute to the technical aspects of a range of projects ensuring they are consistently and successfully delivered according to plan and will also assist with leading and supporting the technical development of our graduate engineers. You will have the opportunity to support our offices across ANZ and to collaborate with other geographies as part of the wider AECOM network.

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for somebody with a positive attitude, who enjoys working collaboratively, is eager to learn new skills and who can show initiative. The right candidate will become an integral part of our team, with opportunities for growth, development and career progression.

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous consulting and design experience

  • Proven experience in delivering projects to clients’ satisfaction at the appropriate standard

  • Relevant skills and experience in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects including highways/rails, general drainage design and ancillary road design elements of signage and safety barriers.

  • Experience in the preparation of design calculations and drawings, technical specifications and construction documentation

  • Strong written and oral communication skills for the preparation of high-quality tenders and report writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc, BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering.
