AECOM UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot in Camp Humphreys, South Korea

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot in support of U.S. Army contract maintenance operations at Camp Humphreys, South Korea.

A.62 Maintenance Test Pilot, Rotary Wing, GS-2181-12: Pilot conducts aircraft post maintenance

functional flight checks to determine airworthiness of maintenance performed by conducting specified

maintenance check maneuvers and procedures specified in the Maintenance Test Flight Checklist;

reviews forms and records to ascertain factors, such as flight readiness, weight & balance, and fuel

supply; files flight plans verifying weather conditions, flight route, and schedule; receives and orders

changes in fuel supply, load, route, or schedule to insure safety of flight; reads gauges to verify that oil,

hydraulic fluid, and fuel quantities are at prescribed levels prior to starting engines; starts engines and

performs maintenance operational checks on aircraft systems to verify operational readiness; contacts

control tower by radio to obtain takeoff clearance and instructions; pilots aircraft adhering to flight plan,

regulations and procedures of the Federal Government, company, and supported customer; logs

information, such as flight time, landings, and fuel consumed; Pilot shall either have a current, valid

Agency or FAA class II medical certificate.

Maintenance test pilots shall not perform flight duties when ill, after receiving medical treatment that

may impair physical abilities required for flight or after receiving drugs from a civilian physician until

properly cleared by an Agency Flight Surgeon or equivalent. Maintenance test pilots shall undergo an

annual flight evaluation. These evaluations will be conducted by both an Instructor Pilot (IP) and

Maintenance Test Flight.

Task Order (TO) #: FA8108-18-F-0006 (Control #: 17-DA-005) Evaluator (MTFE), qualified in Mission,

Type, and Design Series (MDS) and will ensure that all Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) tasks required for

assigned flight duties are accomplished, i.e., non-tactical base tasks and maintenance test pilot (MTP)

tasks are evaluated IAW the appropriate ATM.

Maintenance test pilots shall be proficient in flying operations of the aircraft they are assigned.

Maintenance test pilots shall possess a current, valid ARMY or FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.

Annual renewals of Medical Certificates shall be the responsibility of the individual.

Instrument Rating. Maintenance test pilots shall possess an instrument rating on their FAA Commercial

Certificates. Instrument and night flight are not required by this task order.

Maintenance Test Pilot Prerequisites. The Contractor's maintenance test pilots shall meet the

qualification requirements of AR 95-20. Pilots shall have successfully completed US Army Aircraft

Maintenance Officers Course (AMOC) Phase II or complete an equivalency evaluation IAW AR 95-1 and

95-20.

Maintenance Test Pilot Physical Requirements. The Contractor's maintenance test pilots shall undergo

and successfully complete initially and annually thereafter during their birth months, an Army or FAA

second class flight physical. Re-examination of Contractor test pilots may be required when deemed by

the GFR or PO to be in the best interest of the Government. Contractor test pilots shall not perform

flight duties when ill, after receiving medical treatment that may impair physical abilities required for

flight or after receiving drugs from a civilian physician until properly cleared by an Army Flight Surgeon.

Maintenance Test Pilot Proficiency. The contractor's maintenance test pilots shall undergo annual flight

evaluations conducted IAW AR 95-1, Para 4-9, a & f, and the appropriate Aircrew Training Manual

(ATM). These evaluations will be conducted by both an Army Instructor Pilot (IP) and Maintenance Test

Flight Evaluator (MTFE), qualified in Mission, Type, and Design Series (MDS) and will ensure that all ATM

tasks required for assigned flight duties are accomplished, i.e., non-tactical base tasks and maintenance

test pilot (MTP) tasks are evaluated I/A/W the appropriate Aircrew Training Manual (ATM). These

evaluations must meet the requirements of FAR 61.57.

Maintenance Test Pilot Duties. The contractor’s maintenance test pilot shall be required to perform

additional duties, at the direction of the site supervisor and in coordination with the COR, when not

performing actual flight. These duties may include the following:

(1) Aircraft Inspection.

(2) Aviation Safety Official duties (as designated by the site supervisor).

(3) Chief pilot duties (as designated by the site supervisor).

Designation of Chief Pilot and Aviation Safety Official. The contractor shall designate one individual to

act as Chief Pilot, and one individual to act as Aviation Safety Official. These individuals will be

responsible for performing those duties, as Chief Pilot and Aviation Safety Official, called out in the

contractor’s Flight Operations Standard Operating Procedures. The names and qualifications of these

individuals shall be presented to the Government Flight Representative for approval prior to assuming

their duties.

Mission Profile Briefing. Upon approval by the GFR and satisfactory completion of each annual

evaluation check ride, each maintenance test pilot will receive a Mission Profile Flight Briefing from the

GFR. This briefing will state the conditions/ parameters which must exist for each test flight (or mission)

conducted under the provisions of this delivery order. This briefing will act as the flight mission briefing

required by AR 95-1 and is valid for each flight only when the stipulated conditions/ parameters exist at

the time of that flight. This briefing will be re-executed annually. The Contractor shall select test pilots

from list of current qualified Government aircrew or Contractor personnel, maintained by the

Government Flight Representative (GFR) and shall coordinate the selection with the GFR or his

representative, for all test flights.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must have experience in UH-60 model series aircraft.

  • High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum 1,000 hours Pilot In Command time in aircraft type to be flown.

  • Must have completed military aviation maintenance officer course, UH-60 A/L aviation Maintenance Test Pilot course and commercial pilot license with instrument rating.

  • Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass FAA Class 2 medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

  • Must be able to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
