AECOM Transportation Manager in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

URS/AECOM has an opening for a Transportation Manager in Kuwait.
The Transportation Manager responsible for the oversight of all Transportation Operations, shipping, driver evaluation and driver training. This role will ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations of moving rolling stock / non-rolling stock equipment to and from the various AFSB equipment storage lots, warehouses, aerial ports and sea ports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain on-going communication with Project Manager to discuss department strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, cost control and overall needs
Monitor operations to ensure personnel comply with administrative policies and procedures
Monitors all cargo, equipment and materiel shipments to ensure accountability
Focuses on the principles, policies, trends, and current issues within air, sea, or ground transportation
Plan, coordinate, submit and track all documents generated as required for transportation services
Coordinate and perform necessary administrative and / or operational functions pertaining to Transportation operations
Supervise cargo documentation and movement control units for all transportation modes
Assists in planning transportation requirements for logistical support
Provides supervision and technical guidance for subordinates
Manage the work of subordinates to ensure work is accomplished in a manner consistent with PWS and mission requirements.
Responsible for assisting the training, planning and scheduling of drivers training
Provide customer-service by being involved in solving client problems by acting as a liaisons for the Transportation Department
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor degree preferred.
7 years of specialized experience in Transportation operations is required.
5 years Supervisory experience required.
Prior Military experience in Transportation related field desired.
Experience supporting or training Army logistics operations desired.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of DOD 4500.9-R, Defense Transportation Regulation, CFR-49, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, the International Air Transport Association for Dangerous Goods, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Guide, and AFMAN 24-204.
Must demonstrate their ability to prioritize multiple demands and effectively manage time while being responsive to changing priorities.
Certification & License: Valid US driver’s license required. Class A CDL preferred
Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Must obtain Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification within one year of start date.
