We are currently seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join and support the growth of our landscape planning team, based in any of our major hub offices. As a member of one of the UK&I’s largest and most diverse landscape practices, you will take a lead on a range of types and sizes of projects, including strategic planning, major infrastructure, urban regeneration, and environmental enhancement schemes. We are working with major clients that include National Highways, National Grid, Homes England, London Legacy Development Corporation, London Boroughs, and numerous private clients. Our current projects range from developing the landscape evidence base for Local Plans including Landscape Sensitivity Studies and Green Infrastructure Strategies to project specific LVIAs and TVIAs, many of which are Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects focusing on renewable energy.
We will consider applicants with a wide range of experience but a proven track record in landscape planning, including LVIA and TVIA, is preferable. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of technical expertise in order to be able to carry out the following job/project accountabilities:
Produce and/or oversee the production of reports, drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development from strategies to mitigation design.
Communicate clearly, including the ability to write concise technical reports and to contribute to conference calls, meetings, and workshops.
Working with a Project Manager, undertake project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management.
Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach, develop and manage junior staff, including as a P2C mentor
Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
Be aware of and understand the AECOM procedures, their importance and their application to projects.
Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with at least two years post Chartership experience.
Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively.
Technically competent in preparing LVIAs and TVIAs and evidence-base documents to support development plans and policies in accordance with best practice.
Knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture.
Experience of project management, including financial control and reporting and programme management and ability to manage own budgets.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Competent in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Experience of some or all the following useful: ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS or ProjectWise.
Full UK driving licence.
Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor’s degree, Diploma and/or Master’s degree.
At least 2 years post CMLI.
