Job Summary

Are you a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager looking to work on landmark building projects, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so, we are looking for a Project Surveyor to join our team in Cambridge. You will be joining a team of cost management experts that have a passion for client service and playing our part in delivering cutting edge property solutions.

AECOM Buildings & Places is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues, Work Places, Education, Government and Healthcare. The Cost management team sits in the wider Buildings and Places team.

We are a friendly, busy and motivated team with an established track record of successfully delivering cost management on the full range and scale of projects, and of maintaining excellent client relationships. We work on multiple large projects simultaneously and have a number of large upcoming projects in the region.

Job Responsibilities:

This role involves a cost management position on the team. The role primarily involves a combination of normal project quantity surveyor/cost manager tasks at all project stages including pre-contract cost planning and bills of quantities production, and post-contract interim recommendations and variation account valuation and agreement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled with RICS and on the pathway to becoming Chartered Quantity Surveyor This is not a minimum requirement as long as your academic qualifications enable you to enroll.

  • A clear work history in a similar role or internship experience

  • Experience in preparing cost estimates/cost plans and Bills of Quantities, preferably using Cost X software

  • Experience of the project team and design team liaison

  • Previous experience in a consulting or contracting environment providing/undertaking Cost Management or Quantity Surveying services

  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills

  • Drive to learn and contribute in a positive and engaging manner

  • Ability to work as part of a team to deliver collective tasks and also to work under own initiative where appropriate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management or appropriate conversion course
