Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Civil Engineer in training for the Calgary, AB office to assist with surface water related projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting storm-water and civil infrastructure inventories on behalf of municipal clients

  • Developing hydrologic and hydraulic models from GIS databases using SWMM-based software

  • Working closely with municipalities and undertaking sanitary, water mains and drainage and storm-water related projects

  • Developing concept, preliminary, and detail designs

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Water Resources focus

  • 0 to 4 years of experience in storm-water, water resources, hydrology/hydraulics, and related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge with hydrological and hydraulic principals

  • Experience with construction and design principals of surface and piped water related infrastructure

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Registration or eligibility for registration as an EIT in Alberta

  • On-site construction / inspection experience would be an asset

  • Surveying experience would be an asset

  • Experience in conducting field work would be an asset

  • Experience with watercad, Infowater, SWMM, PCSWMM, InfoSWMM or other modelling software would be an asset.
