Job Summary

The Transportation Division of AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Mid-Level/Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the Calgary, AB office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the Transportation industry, specific to multi-disciplinary transportation projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall project management and leadership in developing opportunities

  • Defining project scope, developing project plans, developing project schedules and developing and tracking fee estimates and project baselines and budgets

  • Tracking project progress of deliverables, milestones and other commitments to clients

  • Determining and taking corrective actions on contractual, technical and commercial issues

  • Building, organizing and motivating project teams and managing daily activities and resources

  • Identifying services to be provided by external companies and negotiating agreements

  • Chairing internal and external, stakeholder or client, meetings representing AECOM

  • Ensuring client satisfaction and overseeing quality review process for submittals

  • Analyzing and managing project risk

  • Managing reports and necessary documentation

  • Developing policies and procedures to support the achievement of project objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent

  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • Significant experience in project management

  • Experience in budgeting, reporting, scheduling

  • Experience writing and winning significant proposals

  • Experience with business development

  • Experience interacting at an executive level (both internal and external)

  • Must have experience managing multi-disciplinary transportation projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • P.Eng designation

  • Practical project management experience (project)

  • Foundational experience that might include design and/or site work and/or construction / operations

  • Experience working on projects for Alberta Transportation, City of Calgary, Federal Government or similar

  • US or overseas experience is considered acceptable / equivalent to Canadian experience, but regional (Western Canada) experience is ideal

  • Should have a demonstrable network of client and engineering contacts
