AECOM Pipeline Project Manager, Future Opportunity in Calgary, Alberta

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager for Pipeline projects to be based in our Calgary, AB location. This is a future opportunity position.
Utilizes formal training and experience to provide technical expertise adhering to a clearly defined estimating process and ensures compliance to AECOM’s pre-determined process and procedures.
Actively participates in the collective preparation of comprehensive, accurate, and consistent cost estimates for proposals for pipeline projects up to $500M.
Interprets construction bid documents and technical drawings to identify engineering specifications, evaluates and estimates materials, manpower, schedule and budget.
Identifies risks and provides analysis with mitigation strategies.
Develops the initial project execution plan as per AECOM’s standards.
Supports the development and maintenance of the project controls plan outlining methodologies and responsibilities while ensuring alignment with AECOM’s process and procedures.
Provides input to the project schedule and updates on a regular basis.
Manages the manpower loading requirements by reviewing the manpower forecast and prioritizes labour loading based on project requirements and business priorities.
Works with the Functional Team Leads to align their functional plans and deliverables based on the project schedule.
Identifies unique quality or safety requirements.
Ensures staffing plans are developed and functional coverage is maintained for the project.
Identifies key project resources, and jointly with the Functional Managers develops succession plans for these people.
Provides leadership in the Safety Management System (SMS) within the project team. Leads monthly safety meetings and participates in regular site safety inspections.
Develops the project budget for direct, indirect and other costs, based on estimates for identified project scope of work.
Utilizes AECOM’s GPDS (Gated Project Delivery System) and leads the project team through the gated project phases.
Works with the Contracts Function to manage the development of the contracting strategies, commercial terms for the project and finalizing the project contract.
Oversees the change management process and approval of all trends and change orders.
Prepares and/or reviews contract change notices.
Reviews and provides input into the project turnover strategy.
Reviews all performance indicators on a shift basis, and as part of the monthly construction and business operation reviews. Provides input and takes actions where required to meet targets.
Conduct review sessions on project status with General Manager and/or Client and highlight adverse schedule and cost variances for corrective actions.
Manages project cash flows by analyzing revenue in excess and accounts receivables. Drives actions within the project to achieve project targets.
Responsible for project revenue and profitability under area of responsibility.
Approves and submits any invoice/timesheet expenses which have business unit expenditures to the appropriate projects.
Oversees preparation and delivery of the financial project closeout report.
Conducts lessons learned sessions at key milestones identified within the construction execution plan in order to drive continuous improvement of the project and processes.
Coordinates with and responds to queries from internal and external clients.
Minimum of College diploma/certificate required.
Technical engineering diploma (Civil or Mechanical)
Intermediate Computer Skills: TILOS, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6, PRISM G2 would be considered an asset.
Advanced Computer Skills: MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience required within pipeline construction (field).
Provides day to day supervision to the project team under the area of responsibility.
Most reside in the are, be able to commute daily to the White City, SK office, or be willing to permanently relocate.
Professional Management Certification and/or Engineering degree preferred.
Professional Management Certification and/or Professional Engineering Certification preferred.
