Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Maintenance Director to work in Calgary, AB supporting report sites within Canada.

Reporting to the Line VP, the Maintenance Director is responsible for leading the successful pursuit, execution and customer throughout the maintenance contracts they oversee. This includes management of the overall maintenance contract to ensure successful delivery on the safety, contractual commitments, and financial targets for the contract in order to achieve or exceed the targets for the Division.

May include the following responsibilities:

Leadership skills:

  • Leads and motivates desired behaviors (e.g., coaching the project team and mentoring one or more individuals).

  • Capable of managing Site or Execution Managers.

  • Leads by example with integrity and candor with a demonstrated commitment to safety

  • Leads proposal efforts for large and complex contracts.

  • Able to lead multi-Group and/or joint venture team. Judgment & Management of Risk

  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively identify potential contract problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

Organizational Skills:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of resources and capabilities of other Groups for appropriate incorporation into the organization.

  • Execution Planning-Capable of developing and taking responsibility for the Execution Plan development for medium and/or large size contracts.

  • Contract-Client Relationship; clearly understands scope of work and all contract requirements.

  • Negotiation-Participates with BD and management in assessment, strategic development, and negotiations with customers. Capable of leading strategic negotiations with customers, major suppliers and subcontractors. May serve as the Proposal Manager of a major pursuit.

Presentation Skills:

  • Leads formal presentations to clients and/or management with support of others.

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • 15 years plus engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, shutdowns, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience.

  • Have a record of proven performance as Maintenance Professional on previous contracts.

  • Capable of performing as the Maintenance Director on a medium risk, medium to high complexity project.

  • Capable of successfully performing on a $250 million contract.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline Or Demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) ticket.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

  • MBA

  • P.Eng

  • MMP or PMP
