AECOM Principal Technical Officer in Cairns, Australia

Job Summary

AECOM’s Cairns Civil Infrastructure team has an opportunity for a Principal Technical Officer to join our close-knit office. As part of this role, you will lead the design and documentation of water and sewerage infrastructure works for a variety of Government departments and local authority clients.

Working in a global organisation with industry specialists, you will have exposure to a wide range of projects, supporting both the local team as well as our wider North Queensland and Northern Territory business.

Your experience will be drawn upon to manage the design process, including mentoring of more junior team members, overseeing design work done by the team, guiding design development and verifying deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years’ relevant work experience

  • A successful track record of leading design and documentation of complex, multi-disciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure projects

  • Strong knowledge of relevant design and drawing presentation standards

  • A focus on quality and understanding of system process requirements.

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to support team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification (Associate Degree, Bachelor of Engineering Technology or equivalent)

  • Proficient in computer design package AutoCAD

  • 12D or Civil 3D experience
