AECOM Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in CA, United States

Job Summary

AECOM (NYSE: ACM), a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm has been selected, as part of the Bridging North America consortium, to design the Gordie Howe International Bridge by the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA). The project is being funded through a public-private partnership and will connect Windsor, Ontario to Detroit, Michigan. The value of AECOM’s initial phase of the contract will be included in the Company’s backlog for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2018.

AECOM's Buildings and Places business line is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to work on this project.

The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will act as a key member of the mechanical design team responsible for leading a multi-billion P3 project, from design through construction.

Provide conceptual design at the early stages of the project and develop the concept to high quality detailed design, co-ordinate with all disciplines;

Job incumbent will write/ edit mechanical specifications;

Travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports.

Position requires:

Strong knowledge and experience in designing HVAC, Controls, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems;

In-depth understanding of HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs (i.e. Carrier HAP);

Working understanding of industry codes such as OBC, NFPA, CSA, etc.;

Perform calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and field investigations;

Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards;

Working knowledge of the LEED rating system, or other green rating system;

Project management experience including budget control and interdisciplinary coordination.

Project work will involve some travel within Canada and may involve some travel to the USA. Job incumbent will be expected to spend

2 days a week minimum in Windsor and the rest of the time at Markham headquarters.

Must participate in business development and writing proposals.

Must be able to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical audience.

Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Must possess valid driver’s licence and passport.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
