Job Summary

AECOM’s Burnaby office is currently seeking a mid-level to senior Project Manager to multiple down Downstream oil and gas remediation projects at former downstream service station and bulk plant sites. We are looking for candidates that are enthusiastic, team oriented professionals with demonstrated project management experience. This position will integrate into a team of environmental engineers, scientists and field technicians to provide leadership on an established program. The appropriately qualified candidate will provide outstanding Project Management skills with a focus on scheduling, monitoring, tracking and controlling and will develop guide and mentor less experienced staff.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and Coordinating remediation programs with large Oil and Gas Clients

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in support of ongoing AECOM environmental investigation, risk assessment and remediation

  • Liaison with clients and regulators

  • Assist with developing and mentoring the Burnaby-based team of Engineers, Geologists, Hydrogeologists and/or Scientists

  • Accountability for project performance and compliance with project delivery expectations

  • Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery and technical problems

  • Interacting and supporting other offices across Canada

  • Supports and drives AECOM quality and project management systems

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of relevant Project Management experience

  • Full understanding of BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and CCME guidelines

  • Experience designing and coordinating Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments and remediation for regulatory compliance and with technical accuracy

  • Experience developing and implementing project scheduling, monitoring and tracking systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Strong Client management skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word

  • Can-do, positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license required

  • Position requires occasional travelling

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSc is an asset

  • Good understanding of procedures developed for Phase I, II and III ESAs, Site characterization, Soil and Groundwater Monitoring Programs and Remediation of contaminated sites

  • Knowledge and ability to review remedial action plans and risk management plans for contaminated sites

  • Senior level communication with clients and stakeholders

  • Ability to work under the regulatory framework provided by BC ENV and CCME

  • Commitment to AECOM’s Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program. Provide Health and Safety leadership to less experienced staff in line with the BBS program

  • Undertake business development and client management for existing and new clients

  • Enthusiastic, positive and highly driven

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

  • Focus on efficiency

  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset
