AECOM’s Geotechnical Practice is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and grow our team of geotechnical professionals in Burnaby. A strong understanding and knowledge in geotechnical engineering related to buildings, energy, transportation and water infrastructure is required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage, mentor staff and champion talent development
Lead and coordinate project pursuits and execution of larger projects
Responsible engineer for geotechnical design including but not limited to shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, dams, slope stability, seismic design, settlement
Work with other engineering disciplines at AECOM to provide services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local, regional and global collaborative opportunities.
Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants and external agencies.

- Minimum BSc Civil or Geological Engineering Degree + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
15+ years of geotechnical engineering practical experience in design and construction in Canada
Demonstrated experience with soft, highly compressible and liquefiable soils in areas of seismic activity
Eligible to be registered as a professional engineer in Canada
Strong leadership skills
