Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Climate Change Strategy & Disclosure Analyst to be based out of any major AECOM office in Canada (Calgary, Burnaby, Hamilton, Edmonton, Markham, Mississauga, Kitchener)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of experience consulting externally (i.e. client-facing) or internally (i.e., in-house at an organization) on climate-related strategy, governance, risk management and/or metrics & targets

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university

  • 7+ years of experience at a climate/sustainability consulting firm, or equivalent with demonstrated experience managing projects, conducting and/or overseeing analysis, and writing proposals and securing work; client management; client presentations and public speaking; experience delegating tasks or managing a small team

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following:

  • Corporate climate change policy and program development

  • Corporate adoption of the recommendations of the TCFD

  • Climate scenario analysis

  • Climate-related transition risks (Policy and Legal Risk; Technology Risk; Market Risk; Reputation Risk), physical risk (Acute Risk; Chronic Risk) and opportunities (Resource efficiency; Energy Source; Products & Services; Markets; Resilience)

  • Integration of climate risk in enterprise risk management (ERM) processes

  • Financial impacts of climate risk and opportunity

  • Climate target setting (i.e., Net Zero, Science-Based Targets)

  • Outstanding critical thinking skills with the ability to solve unstructured problems

  • Outstanding communication, writing and organizational skills

  • Intellectually curious with a strong desire to develop professionally in the climate change field

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Powerpoint, Word, and Excel

  • Outstanding analytical and creative thinking capabilities and the ability to clearly present them

  • Excellent reading comprehension and writing skills and high-level of attention to detail in text

  • Able to synthesize and present complex information in a clear and succinct manner

  • Able to work well independently, be resourceful and proactively find solutions to challenges

  • A demonstrated passion for work involving sustainability and climate change

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and comfort with working with diverse teams and clients and making oral presentations
