AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level EHS Compliance Specialist for employment in either the Latham, NY or Buffalo, NY office. The Entry Level EHS Compliance Specialist will support various types of clients including but not limited to state, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical etc. The Specialist will work closely with Project Managers to provide technical assistance on EHS compliance documentation/plans, EHS program implementation and due diligence projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance documentation/plans, EHS program implementation, and due diligence transaction projects.
Prepare plans (SPCC, SWPPP, etc.), permits, and reports for EPCRA Tier II and TRI, hazardous waste, air quality, storm water, NPDES, and wastewater programs.
Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Support the development of EHS compliance and management system programs.
Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
Perform Phase I environmental site assessments to support property/asset transfer transactions.
Work on an individual and team basis depending on assignment.
Skills include multi-tasking, problem solving, effective communication, technical writing ability and self-directed work.
Under direct supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards.
Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.
- BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, EHS or Sustainability
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
