The Environmental Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, motivated Environmental Engineer for immediate employment in the Buffalo, New York office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide reliable, flexible engineering services in the field and office.

  • Perform field sampling and other tasks at a variety of sites including hazardous waste sites.

  • Perform engineering design and supporting calculations. Be able to perform basic hydrologic/hydraulic and geotechnical design calculations and develop appropriate details for open channels, storm water management systems, etc. Be able to develop grading plans.

  • Prepare Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS).

  • Conduct research including obtaining vendor quotes to develop detailed cost estimates.

  • Prepare detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.

  • Prepare cost estimates using existing databases.

  • Provide field sketches and coordinate with GIS and CAD staff to develop figures and drawings.

  • Research innovative remediation technologies and evaluate their suitability to existing projects.

  • Be familiar with the fundamentals of site civil construction work and the means by which basic civil works are constructed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Capable of using Microsoft Office programs (word, excel, project, powerpoint) and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience with design, cost estimating, specification writing and CADD

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
