Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit.
Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence.
Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Specific Skills Required:
A highly motivated senior professional with a successful track record in managing and developing staff and building teams with different technical backgrounds.
Successful track record in managing a Profit & Loss account.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the Consultancy business in either the Water or Power industry.
Experienced in building client relationships and identifying, pursuing and winning work.
Experienced in commercial and contractual management with excellent negotiation skills.
Ability to think and act strategically and to recognise and encourage cross-organisational synergy, both within and outside AECOM.
A capability to develop and nurture business relationships, engaging in a constructive and positive manner; a willingness to be flexible, where appropriate, in order to find a “win-win” position.
Excellent communicator (both written and verbal).
Proven experience overseeing project delivery.
Enthusiastic and tenacious, taking ownership of driving the right opportunities.
Prepared to travel as needed across the South West & Wales district.
- Preferably the candidate would hold a Civil Engineering Degree and/or Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and be a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or relevant Institution
