Job Summary

Growth and Development Lead, Renewables and New Energies, European Energy Practice.

Our Europe Energy Practice is now looking for an energetic, focused and consistently proactive individual to lead the continued growth of our Renewables and New Energies markets. As Growth and Development Lead, you will sit on the Leadership Team, reporting into the Business Development Director, and will be accountable for the growth of our Renewables and New Energies sector. You will be instrumental in strategic planning, client engagement, positioning, and the capturing of exciting opportunities. You will be expected to lead by example, to grow and nurture a team of likeminded individuals, work with our clients, develop new relationships and create exciting opportunities.

The successful candidate will drive growth in the Renewables and New Energies Practice, being an ambitious team player who brings demonstrable experience in creating and converting exciting opportunities; who has a sound understanding of client needs in this sector; can be proactive in their approach to work; and who wants to share in our enthusiasm and determination to lead and drive growth in our important client-base in this sector.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Lead on bid strategy development.

  • Lead and drive a customer first mindset across the business.

  • Build new, effective customer relationships with key clients to build the required pipeline of business contributing towards our growth ambitions.

  • Prepare and oversee fee bids and proposals.

  • Work closely with the business unit commercial and legal support.

  • Actively develop and promote the industry profile of AECOM’s work in this sector.

  • Lead input to team and client meetings, being prepared to own decisions and put forward alternative ideas and concepts.

  • Client Management of strategically important accounts.

  • Project Director on key strategic projects with core clients, to maintain relationships and keep an understanding of project delivery.

Minimum Requirements

We’d like you to be a creative and strategic thinker, with confidence and ability to lead and influence. We would like to see the following key experience:

  • You will have an established market reputation with a demonstrable record of winning sustainable and commercially viable projects in the Renewables and New Energies sectors.

  • You will bring existing client relationships within the Energy sector and the ability to develop new effective relationships across the sector.

  • Must be self-motivated, curious and creative – with a ‘can do’ attitude and ability to positively influence peers.

  • Strong understanding of trends within the Renewables sector in UK&I and mainland Europe and ability to develop & deliver strategy to growth

  • Strong written and verbal communication: Delivery of clear and concise technical proposals and documents, and delivery of successful commercial pitches and technical presentations to key clients.
