AECOM Senior / Principal Transmission Lines Engineer in Brisbane, Australia

As part of our growing ANZ and global Energy business, AECOM has an opportunity for a Senior / Principal Transmission Lines Engineer to join our Energy team. As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our highly respected Transmission and Distribution practice, with dedicated Energy professionals who provide advice and expertise to clients throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

This role will give you the opportunity to provide business development and technical support as well as deliver quality project outcomes on time and budget delivery. You will be involved in leading the modelling, design of structures and foundations for Transmission Lines projects for a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Some of the day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Concept and Detailed Design of Transmission Lines using PLS-CADD software

  • Modelling of structures using PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE

  • Foundation designs – varying from normal concrete foundations to pile foundations

  • Site visits and inspections as required

  • Drafting design reports

  • Assisting with the preparation of proposals

  • Interfacing / developing relationships with clients to secure new opportunities

  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team

Minimum Requirements

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 10+ years’ transmission lines industry experience

  • In depth knowledge of transmission line design up to 330kV and higher voltage levels

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • Self-motivated and a team player

  • Site experience / experience in projects being constructed

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering

  • Proficient in PLS software packages

  • CPEng and RPEQ – or in process of obtaining.
