AECOM Principal Electrical Engineer – Team Leader in Brisbane, Australia

Job Summary

AECOM’s Buildings & Places Business has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our well-respected Building Services Practice in Brisbane at Principal level to lead and manage the Electrical team in Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity to take the next step in your career and to be responsible for the direction, and the future, of a dynamic group of Electrical Engineers. With the support of other senior staff, the chance to lead, grow, develop, and shape the future of the team is an exciting challenge of this role.

Utilising your strong technical skills and knowledge, this role will see you leading and running your own projects. With exposure to a range of diverse multi-national medium and large-scale projects across the Defence, Education, Transportation, High Tech and Health sectors, this role will see you working within a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled professionals.

Working within a highly motivated and driven team, you will mentor our junior staff and develop our future engineers. As an experienced professional, you will contribute to the winning, management and delivery of moderate to large scale projects and will play a critical role in the preparation and delivery of presentations associated with business development and winning work.

As part of this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the development, resourcing, planning and growth of the Electrical Team;

  • Provide electrical services expertise and leadership;

  • Deliver design services and advice;

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement;

  • Participate in business development and writing proposals;

  • Assist in work planning and programming within the team.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience relevant work experience;

  • Experience working within a top tier Building Services Consultancy;

  • Experience in leading a team in a management role or on complex multi-disciplinary projects;

  • Experience working on electrical services design covering lighting, general and specialist power, earthing/lightning protection, power distribution and reticulation across a broad range of sectors;

  • Exceptional levels of written and oral communication;

  • Experience leading and running electrical engineering components of major projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Required)

  • CPEng / RPEQ (Or working towards) – Highly advantageous
