As a result of a significant project pipeline, AECOM’s Resources, and Industrial Business has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to help drive the technical outcome for a series of active fuel projects across the defence and private sectors for AECOM’s valued Clients.
Specifically, this opportunity will require a technical understanding across bulk fuel installations, with the ability to support the generation of detailed designs from concept through to execution.
This is a design consulting role that will influence outcomes with our clients across the areas of Defence, maritime, aviation and large vehicle refuelling and bulk fuel storage of liquid hydrocarbon fuels. You will be hands on in the development of engineering design documentation and construction phase technical support for new-build, upgrading and refurbishment of bulk fuel infrastructure.
Ability to develop concept designs from scratch with minimal supervision, ensuring innovation is at the forefront of all early discussions
Experience in developing engineering designs within defence fuel installations and hazardous areas
A minimum of 3 years+ (Post Graduation) experience in the field described above
Experience in Design/Engineering/Consulting projects
Defence Security Clearance or ability to obtain same
Strong oral and written communication skills.
CPEng/RPEQ – or ability to obtain
Bulk Fuel Engineering Design Experience for Defence, Aviation and Maritime
Knowledge of Code and policy compliance including AS1940, AS4897, AS 4041, AS2885, ASTM, ASME, API, MSS and the Defence Fuel Infrastructure Design Practices Manual.
