We are looking for an experienced Lead Cost Controller to work closely with our clients and stakeholders to produce best earned value management and transparent project timelines in a client-facing environment.
Along with managing a small team of Cost Controllers, a Lead Cost Controller at AECOM Construction Services will also be expected to advise and lead stakeholders, including clients, across a construction project timeline and earned value management, in line with Australian standards.
Therefore, you will be driven by strong project management values and hold a wealth of knowledge across cost on all phases of a construction project, with a proven background in maintaining project programs, budgets and forecasts.
A Lead Cost Controller in our Brisbane office will be involved in multiple complex projects and use your passion for cost-effective project management and client engagement to achieve best results on-time and on-budget, with a variety of projects in our portfolio and pipeline.
This opportunity will enable a suitable Lead Cost Controller to step in to a thriving AECOM group and work closely with clients in successful delivery and improved efficiency of their major projects.
This role will require some of the following key attributes and skillsets;
Development and maintenance of project programs, budgets and forecasts;
Establishment of project systems including, schedule, earned value management, and scope and cost control;
Proven prior experience managing teams of Financial and Cost Controllers in Construction/Engineering projects
Monitoring and reporting on project status, expenditure versus budget, forecast to complete, schedule updates and progress against baselines;
Ability to mentor and guide juniors across varied engineering and construction project timelines, and provide relevant support where necessary
Variance analysis for cost, and schedule, including identification of exceptions and corrective actions as appropriate;
Earned Value Management in line with Australian Standards, with proven experience working to Australian Standards;
Contract administration support to Project Manager, and/or Commercial Manager in the tracking of scope creep and compilation of variations against contracts;
AECOM Financial system update including invoicing, project forecasts and reporting.
Provide mentoring, leadership, and direction to the project team, and junior staff members.
Confident communication skills; verbal, written and reporting writing methods
Tertiary Qualification in relevant field; Civil Engineering, Construction or similar
5-12 years professional experience in the construction or civil infrastructure industry
